The first project meeting…
…took place at Pärnu Jaagupi from 23 to 27 January 2008 . The objective of the meeting was to get introduced to each other and to specify the plans of co-operation. Three wonderful days were spent together. The first day the guests and the students of Pärnu-Jaagupi Gymnasium visited Tallinn Water Treatment Plant and made a tour in the Old Town of Tallinn.
The second day of the project meeting included activities at school. At the chemistry lesson the purity of water was tested, at the biology lesson an attempt was made to find out how big damages oil pollution may cause. By the end of the day all the participating students completed a common work of art named "Underwater World". The teachers held a meeting at the same time.
In the evening students came together for a party in national style, each school introduced their country, culture and traditions. Estonian national dishes were served and our students played national instruments and danced folk dances.
We had also planned activities in the snow but unfortunately there was no snow, so we made a trip to the beach and to the moor on Saturday.
The final resolutions of the meeting were
-
Carry out the studies on water usage at home using questionnaires compiled by the teachers from Pärnu-Jaagupi and Madrid.
- Test the purity of drinking water from all the participating countries at the meeting in Madrid in chemical way
- Hold the second project meeting in Madrid from 23 to 27 April 2008, the third meeting in October 2008 in Hungary and the fourth in May 2009 in Istanbul.
